Karsyn Whitt of Lumberton named to President’s List

ST. GEORGE, UT – Utah Tech University students excelled in the classroom during the Fall 2022 semester with 1,282 UT students, or 10 percent of the student body, earning President’s List honors. Inclusion on the President’s List requires students to complete a minimum of 15 credits and achieve a GPA of 3.9 or higher.

Silsbee City Council approves SEDC agreement

The Silsbee City Council met in a very short meeting Monday and voted to approve a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Silsbee authorizing the Silsbee Economic Development Corporation to provide financial assistance to Lori Matthews DBA LoLo’s Snow Co. and Eatery in the total amount of $25,000.

Hardin County Commissioners approve requests, grant funding

The Hardin County Commissioners met Tuesday, Jan. 30 for a special meeting and gave approval of a request by ReJena Bolton, the county Health inspector to submit an application for the Walmart Community Grant in the amount of $4,000 for the Christmas tree Lighting event in December.

Kountze ISD is seeking public comment on their six month review of their ESSER Spending Plan and Continuity of Services Plan. If there are any comments on the plans for the upcoming 6 month review, please contact James Stevenson, Assistant Superintendent via email at jstevenson@kountzeisd.org. Opportunity for input can also be heard at the Kountze ISD School Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, February 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kountze Intermediate School Library.
