Vidor man nabbed after hang-up calls

On Friday, March 3, 2023, at approximately 12:15 a.m., the Vidor Police Department responded to several 911 hang -up calls in the area of 690 N. Main Street, Vidor, Texas. This individual made several 911 calls and hang up each time. The Dispatcher was able to locate the origination location from the phone’s GPS coordinates.

Disc Jockey ‘Boy’ Brown honored with proclamation

Mayor Kevin Garner read the proclamation and then presented it to Brown: It reads as follows: WHEREAS, William “Boy” Brown was a nationally acclaimed disc jockey who founded his household name “Boy” in Beaumont, Texas.

Tigers end great year with 76-70 loss in regional finals

The Silsbee Tigers advanced to the regional finals on Saturday where they suffered a 76-70 defeat at the hands of a Booker T. Washington squad. Last year the same two teams met in the regional finals with Silsbee claiming a come from behind 78-72 victory. This year proved to be a different year.

Robotics team to be in world competition

Silsbee High School’s state champion GOLD! Robotics team competed at the Texas VEX Robotics High School Region 3 Championship in Houston on Saturday, March 4, in hopes of winning an invitation to the VEX Robotics World Championship in April. Team GOLD! put on an impressive performance winning multiple awards and securing invitation for all three of the robots that they brought to the tournament.

Silsbee council rejects bids for road project
