Tigers outdo Orangefield in scrimmage

The Silsbee Tigers scrimmaged Orangefield on Thursday evening. The scrimmage was laid out with each team having ten plays to run their first team offense against the opponents first team defense then the action changed with each team running their second team offense against the others second team defense.

Silsbee City Council supports mission to slow cat population

Kountze, Kirbyville battle in scrimmage

The Kountze Lions travelled to Kirbyville last Friday for a scrimmage. The two teams have struggled in recent years with going winless in 2022 and Kirbyville winning only three games.

Scrimmages scheduled for Thursday and Friday

The pads have been popping this week as football teams advanced past the conditioning stage to the point where they were allowed to put on the pads and start contact drills. Thursday the action will move up another level when teams take the field against each other in scrimmage situations.

Silsbee’s Logan Simmons is 3rd team all state pitcher

BRYAN – Sinton catcher Blake Mitchell was the player of the year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 4A baseball team. Mitchell batted .457 with 15 doubles, six homers and 42 runs batted in leading Sinton (37-4) to the state tournament. The LSU signee, who was the eighth overall pick in the MLB Draft by Kansas City, drew 61 walks and had 41 stolen bases. He was the state’s two-time Gatorade Player of the Year.
